Food Safety

    1. Procure locally grown dent corn to reduce carbon emissions generated from the transportation of imported grain.
    2. Continue to purchase US SSAP & Canadian sustainable soybean for production use to support eco-friendly farming and sustainable land use.
    3. Continue to certify the palm oil products via RSPO certification.
    4. Continue to purchase FSC certified cardboard boxes to support sustainable forest management.
    5. Taichung Harbor Plant passed the unannounced audit for all production lines and continue to hold valid certification.
    6. Taichung Harbor plant continues to pass the "Verification of Food Safety Management System" conducted by Food and Drug Administration.
    7. Invited external consultant to conduct onsite training course on SQF version 9.0 so our staff have a better understanding of the revised version.
    8. Continue to manage and control the glycidyl fatty acid esters (GEs) content from the production of palm oil to be in compliance with the European Union (EU) regulatory standard.
Low Carbon Emissions toward Sustainability

    1. Charming Food adopted and certified with ISO 14046: 2014, Water Footprint Project.
    2. Taichung Harbor Plant quantified GHG emissions in 2014; Shalu Plant and Taichung Harbor Plant are certified for three consecutive years.
    3. Lukang plant adopted Greenhouse Gas Emissions Quantification for the first time and certified by an independent third party.
    4. Shalu plant adopted ISO 50001 Energy Management in 2017; Shalu Plant and Taichung Harbor Plant are certified for four consecutive years via an independent third party.
    5. Reduced 1,927kg of ink on the edible oil containers via plain containers with label instead of printing on the container.
    6. 2 sesame oil products, 5 dried bonito flakes products, 15 pet food products, total of 22 products with Carbon-Footprint labels.
    7. Started the solar panel installation in 2014, an increase of 3.6% in solar panel energy generation from 2021 to 2022.
    8. 3 low environmental impact products with the Green Mark which increase resource efficiency.

Happy Innovative Workplace
/
    1. Collaborated with National Taipei University of Technology, we established a Digital Transformation Research and Development Center. Through industry-academia alliance, we hope to offer talent development and a seamless transition for students to enter the workforce.
    2. Weight Loss Challenge with 35 participants: Total weight loss of 52.3 kg, average weight loss of 1.5kg per person; 11.2kg was the most reduction among the participants; total decrease of 15.5% in body fat, an average body fat deduction of 0.4%; and the most body fat reduction was 4.5%.
    3. Frequency Severity Indicator (FSI) dropped from 0.55 to 0.47.
    4. Released Human Rights Policy that clearly outlines adherence to international human rights standards; committed to uphold the fundamental human rights.
    5. Adopted ISO 45001 Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems to increase employee safety at the workplace.
    6. In 2022, a total of 9,893 personnel hours were allocated for education and training, with training expense of NT$1,927,405.
    7. To promote gender diversity and workplace equality, there are a total of 6 female executives, accounting for 12.8% of management positions.
    8. Participated in the Dunn & Bradstreet ESG evaluation, with an overall score of 2.0, surpassing the industry average of 2.75 (score range from 1 to 5, the lower number the better).
